I am happy to announce the return of my Post Post Podcast after a few months hiatus, and I am even happier to declare that my first guest of Season 3 is the illustrious Sol Luckman.

Barely a day goes by where my life and perhaps yours also (should you be so lucky!) is not touched by an artful offering of Sol’s whether it be a piece of his art, writing, or music. Always a source of inspiration for me, as one who shares my thirst for freedom of expression and lust for life, Sol is a fellow devotee to the power of imagination and innate gifts of creativity and healing we each possess. Often under utilized, our inner technology lies dormant, awaiting the nudge from our loving attention to “rewaken the alchemical child within.”

Recently, I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing his latest book Get Out Of Here Alive which contains rich wisdom and practical guidance related to mind and body work directed towards healing and wholeness. It was my honour and delight to have Andrew back on as my guest for our second conversation. You can watch our first podcast together here.

This time around we discuss parenting (of course ;) and also how best to navigate ourselves in a world that is governed by forces determined to divide us from our sovereignty, our power, our dreams, and alas….from each other.

As a devotee to the practice of controlling what he can control and as a husband and father of four, Andrew strives to put his focus on what most matters to him- his family. For there is an inherent recognition that in doing so he is not only best serving those he loves- he is also doing his part in healing the whole. All of us benefit from his thoughtfulness and careful tending to what exists at a mere arm’s length away from him. His writing and poetry serve as guiding bright lights and his regular offerings of dad jokes via his hilarious meme posts serve up much needed silliness.

Humour and heart go a long way towards finding balance in this wild ride of a world.

At one point in our talk I ask Andrew “What’s your definition of ‘perfection’?”

He wrote this poem as his reply:

“Perfection, as It Is

Perfection, they say, is an absence of flaw,

A glimmering ideal without a single crack.

Yet how can something so pristine be drawn

When life itself wears shadows on its back?

If offered a treasure of ten million gold,

To trade some fragment of my life away,

Would I refuse, for fear of what it might hold,

Knowing the loss might stain the day?

Is it not in this hesitation, this tender pause,

That we glimpse the shape of something pure?

Not in what we seek, but what we already cause,

A life so dear, no wealth could lure.

For what if perfection is not a distant star,

But the humble way things simply are?

The laugh of a child, the warmth of a hand,

The chaos and peace of this living land.

What if perfection is the dance of the flawed,

The scars we bear, the love we've clawed?

The nights of doubt, the mornings of grace,

The very breath in this holy space.

Perfection, then, is not to be chased,

Nor found in mirrors, smooth and untraced.

But in the tangled, imperfect thread,

The rough and rocky paths we tread.

For in the mess, in the everyday strife,

Perhaps we find the perfect life.

Not free of flaw, but full of heart,

In the broken whole, we play our part.”

Before I sign off to let you watch/listen, and in the name of authenticity, I want to share something personal with you.

There are many ways to perceive this reality.

One such way has been defined as the Law of Correspondence which simply states that all things are interconnected, and that each part contains the whole.

‘As above, so below. As within, so without.”

For many decades of my life, I’ve used the power of reflection to gain insight into myself and also into the deeper mysteries of life.

To me, there is no better mirror than another human being.

If you pay attention and allow yourself to see what they show you, they can reveal your blindspots, repressed shadows, behaviour patterns and habits, as well as the countless reasons you are worthy of love, and worthy of being seen and heard.

Like with Coleman, Andrew and I had no set date or time for our podcast- we only knew it would happen ‘sometime’ in the future when he could carve out some free time. This was cool with me as I’m totally into spontaneity. Livin’ on the edge, and all that.

The morning Andrew messaged me to say he’d be free at noon to talk, I had been feeling ‘off’ for a few days, existing in the discomfort of insecurity- a familiar old habit of mine. I was not feeling frisky, or inspired, or confident, or bold- I was feeling dull and boring. Quite frankly, I just wanted to hide and stay hidden.

At the same time, I did not want to let this opportunity to speak with Andrew pass by. Who knew when he would be available again? I also knew how soothing his company would be so I said yes despite how I was feeling. I showed up the best I could. And boy am I glad that I did.

In an ongoing effort to replace ‘perfection’ with ‘authenticity’ this was yet another chance to practice. To be where I was at and have that be enough.

Afterwards, Andrew and I exchanged a few words and he said this:

“I noticed a few times when you were talking about your own experiences it felt like you were unsure if they were... acceptable? good enough? You should stop doubting that, assuming I saw what I thought I did. You're for sure more than deserving and good enough.”

WHAT A REFLECTION!!!

I knew what he said to be TRUE. Now I was given an opportunity to explore:

Why do I fear sharing what I think and believe to be true with others?

Inspired by Andrew to reflect on this unconscious fear, I noted that I’ve long been the ‘black sheep’ in my world- among family and friends, at school or work…it doesn’t matter where I am- I’ve been the weirdo wherever I go.

My intense empathy and sensitivity as a child, crying at other’s pain and suffering, was often met with a “You’re too sensitive, Jacqueline” admonishment or critique.

My gift became a thorn in my side. A source of pain to attempt to bury (as if I could)- instead of a tool to learn how to wield.

This, coupled with my curious questing- to seek beneath the layers of this fascinating world- and then learning that the discoveries I made were not welcome for discussion at parties or bars.

I can’t do small talk and my big talk always got me into trouble.

Over time, and after losing countless people, I developed a habit of hiding my thoughts, my understanding, my knowledge; of being unsure when I could reveal what I truly believe and know without ridicule or the cost of a loss.

Joining Substack, writing, sharing, and conversing with the beautiful friends I am meeting here, has been powerfully transformative and deeply healing for me.

Gradually, I am shedding my PTSD and owning my Self more now that I find myself in the company of others with whom I can be fully expressed. I can share ALL that I am and see only a reflection of love and acceptance shining back at me.

Also, I had taken much of the summer off from creating musically- no playing, writing, recording, nor performing. This is a big no-no.

All work and no music makes Jac a dull & unhappy girl.

Music for me is my MOJO. It is what feeds me and makes me ME.

Knowing thyself and acting accordingly is an ongoing education. I’m up for it.

I want to thank each and every one of you, from all of my heart, for your openness, your acceptance, your vulnerability and your strength, your support and encouragement. You are beautiful mirrors.

We are all in this wild game together.

Hello, my friends!

This week held a very special surprise for me. Opportunity knocked and I answered.

I finally had the chance to sit down and have a conversation with the one of a kind Stack Daddy of Substack, Justin Coleman.

Not only is he one of my favourite writers on the platform due to his addictively refreshing approach to story-telling, but he is also a key figure in the community Notes space, regularly offering us glimpses at the world through his lens that range from surprising and amusing to stimulating and deeply insightful.

Coleman is the epitome of a man who, having been initiated through a rite of passage, now stands solidly in his hard-earned wisdom as one who owns all of his past, lives fully in the present, and faces his future with a humble heart full of integrity and the essence of a true warrior.

Well-equipped with his quick wit, strong opinions, killer custom memes, and a superb sense of humour, Coleman invites his readers to focus on what truly matters while not taking the noise of the rest too seriously. He unites us in laughter.

I find him to be endlessly entertaining.

Tess and I enjoyed a discussion of many topics including Kundalini, music-making, dealing with triggers, and the art of compassion.

I first discovered Tess’s page through (surprise, surprise) , and once I landed inside the world of her words, I was immediately taken by the power of her passion and the pure intent of her huge heart.

Her writing is an honest exposure of her innermost struggles to break free from and grow beyond a past that will not be allowed to define her future.

In all of her writing, whether it’s her poetry, prose, or lyrics, Tess generously offers us the gems of her hard-earned wisdom so that we can learn from her experience, and perhaps avoid the pitfalls that she knows too well. It is her personal story of pain and loss that fuels her determination to make a difference for others by creating impactful music and powerful lyrical art that always strike chords of vulnerability and truth.

By tending to her own pain, Tess is helping to end to generational cycles of suffering so that we may all find our wings and fly free from the illusion of fear that holds us back from discovering, owning and sharing our own greatness.

I do hope that your week is being kind to you.

Personally, I find that time is bizarre and the sun is elusive. Luckily, I’ve got lots to keep me busy as my part of the world slowly melts itself away into the warm, fresh, green growth of spring.

I’m happy to present the next episode of my podcast for Stackers & their Stories.

My guest this week is the lovely Kara, from Karafree.

As a passionate seeker and an artist, Kara describes her Stack in this way:

As I traverse this labyrinth we call reality I have tripped head first down many a rabbit hole. With the eye and imagination of an artist, To paint my own canvas is the goal. Don't let someone else's splatters land on your canvas.

From the moment we first crossed paths inside a Substack comment section, I knew we were kindred spirits, as we both understand that the power of our words and our focus can create worlds. It really is up to us to decide whether we want to create a hell or a heaven with our creative abilities.

It wasn’t long after our initial verbal exchange that I first caught a glimpse of Kara’s art in a post our fellow creative geniushad restacked of her paintings.

It was love at first sight.

The flowers, the vibrant colours, the textures…ALL of it spoke to my heart.

I’m happy to add that not only are her paintings right up my aesthetic alley, but so are the plant-based posts she presents them within. It’s her pieces like Plants Dominate the World and How To Paint a Tree (linked below) that make Kara’s deep love and respect for Nature evident.

And so it quickly became evident to me that I needed to meet her in person and learn more about this wonderful woman.

She is compassionately and thoughtfully following a path led by her curiosity to discover what’s true, while rescuing six homeless dogs along the way. SIX!!!

How amazing is that?!

I am excited to present the next instalment of the POST POST PODCAST.

My lovely guest is Andrew, of Dad Explains.

This week you get to meet the man behind the avatar that is now so familiar to many of us- the one that depicts a fatherly figure sporting a grey-tinged beard that says “I’ve lived some life, I’ve learned some lessons, and I’m here to graciously share my wisdom with all of you.”

Inspired by the desire to provide a legacy of guidance for his four children, Andrew writes:

From the heart of a father, this guidebook is more than just advice—it's a compass for navigating the intricate paths of life, relationships, and personal growth.

In my short experience on Substack, I’ve noticed that Andrew offers a warm and comforting presence on the platform and in the community. He consistently manages to write posts and notes that are delicious blends of humility and strength, earnestess and curiosity, knowledge and wisdom- always seasoned with a dash of humour and a sense of play.

During our talk, I got to experience his sincerity and humility firsthand, as this writing from his About section shows:

I do not claim to know everything. I do not claim to be correct about everything I think or write or say. I will claim, and do claim, that I pour my heart and soul out onto these pages and in these posts. These are written towards my children, from their father. I take my duties very seriously.

What that means is the content you are getting from this substack is as honest, genuine, unfiltered, unmoderated, naked, unedited, full of mistakes, full of love, and as full of conviction and passion as I can manage because you damn well better believe I am going to give my everything to my children. And, by some sort of literary and technological transitive property, I am giving it all to you as well, dear reader.

There is an undeniable generosity of spirit in this Dad who is simply devoted to giving his kids the best support and love a parent can.

And we all get to benefit from his efforts to do so.

Hello, my Substack friends!

Life/work obligations have taken me away from posting regularly this month. I’m nearing the end of editing a fun audiobook, and have been rehearsing for some upcoming gigs.

However, I will always make the time to meet any one of you who wish to share your Substack story with me on my podcast.

This week I’m so happy to present my recent conversation with the imitable, the talented, the very Shrewd Artist, Michael Newberry.

We talk about art, of course, but also the CIA psy-ops and infiltration into modern art, and what brought him to Substack.

“I've written six or seven books on art, including the art historical work "Evolution through Art." I believe my writing came about because while I paint, I want to understand everything I'm doing in words, from technical scientific problems to very nuanced introspective emotional feelings, to my philosophy of eudaemonia, coined by Aristotle.”

I have enjoyed reading both his instructional posts extracted from his Art Studio Companion on such things as the technique of composition and elements of light.

But there’s more to be learned from this shrewd artist than just painting tips.

I feel a special kinship with Michael. We are both staunchly opposed to the nihilistic Post Modernist assault on the things we hold dear, like the value of truth and the virtue of beauty. In an enlightening post called The Postmodern-CIA-Kant Playbook he describes the agenda to destroy and corrode our humanity in this way:

“By propagating shit is art and every other anti-value, they destroy the public’s ability to clearly assess the heroes and geniuses that walk amongst us. That segment of the public then becomes the unwitting instruments of their own destruction.”

Plus, his paintings make me feeeeeel things, and make my eyes leaky.

My favourite (so far) is The Kiss. It is a radiant reflection of intimacy, her hand on his face, his breath on her nose. May we all be so blessed to have lived this painting.

For the 6th episode of the Post Post Podcast, I had a fun conversation with a particularly whimsical and artful guest, the lovely Amy Rosebush.

Most of you will recognize her as .

Amy is what I consider to be the epitome of a supportive and much valued member of our stacking community. Not only does she give her time and attention to reading and ingesting the pieces we post, but she also tends to leave incredibly thoughtful comments, indicating her sincere appreciation for our efforts. If ever I feel that I may have missed the mark with my offering, Amy is there to ensure me that what I’ve shared has some value to her. She is a true team-player, applauding our successes each step of the way.

Hey friends!

It’s that time again.

The next episode of the podcast is here for your viewing/listening pleasure.

This week, I’m so happy to share with you my conversation with one of the very first people I met on Substack, Christopher Cook.

In fact, I found the Freedom Scale before I had even created Post Post Modern.

I don’t remember exactly which post of his I read, but it most likely was a well-thought out piece about anarchy which would draw my attention, as it’s kind of my thing.

I commented. He wrote back. I commented, he wrote back.

It continued back and forth like that until, before I knew it, we had woven a bit of a web and made a connection- and now here we are sharing our first conversation with you. He is refreshingly open-minded and optimistic.

Please relax and enjoy as we discuss details about his Stack, his book and his writing, and his ever-evolving ideas on what freedom is and how to achieve it.

After I left the left, I traveled to some strange places during a short deconstructive phase. Then, while writing my book The Freedom Scale, I took a deep dive into the classical-liberal principles undergirding the ideology of the right. This undertaking wrought a profound change in me. Ultimately, through reasoning and research, I realized that all governments are a moral problem. I know “anarchism” is a scary word, but if you stick around, I believe I can convince you to consider some new ideas.

Well, my friends….it’s here!

I created the very first episode of the Post it Notes Podcast.

I spent a lot -a LOOOOT- of time with myself yesterday getting to know myself better.

I asked myself a bunch of questions and gave myself a lot of answers.

Here’s hoping there is something of value in this prototype of an interview for you.

Please feel comfortable leaving helpful feedback for me in the comments.

It is a brand new baby of an idea that wants to be the best it can be, and grow into a mature sovereign adult idea that fully functions in society by contributing to the world around it.

I am beyond grateful for how well so many of you received my idea for a podcast that showcases Stackers & their Stories. I am so excited to get to know you better.

The world wants us to tell our unique stories. Needs us to.

Doing this brings us together in ways that are obvious, yes.

But I think there are subtler, more important reasons to share.

During this time of heightened ‘divide and conquer’ agendas attempting to split us into teams and to separate us from each other by exploiting our deeply held fears and unhealed traumas, it is especially important that we debunk the nonsense that tells us we are on different sides. That we are somehow justified to harm the ‘other’ simply because they hold different views. Firstly, this is a distraction from doing your work on yourself, the work of tending to your own wounds and healing so that you can mature fully into a whole adult sovereign human man or woman.

Secondly, we are being socially engineered to consistently put our focus on what we don’t want. If we stay stuck in a loop of reaction we lose our ability to create.

When we reclaim our autonomy, our freedom of mind, of body, of spirit, we can then focus the power of our innate gift of attention towards what we want to see.

Towards creating art, music, harmony. Towards creating a sane and healthy world.

We are powerful creators. Let’s tap into that and light it UP!!!!
